Vineyard Notes: The Pinot Noir vineyard is a small backyard vineyard on the Sonoma side of Los Carneros (the southernmost & coolest section of Napa & Sonoma Valleys. Everything is done by hand, there are no tractors and no forklifts. There are only 25 rows of vines planted in 1986. This area benefits from the almost daily morning fogs, which make it ideal for cool-climate varieties such as Pinot Noir.
Cellar Notes: Since we made the 2024 Pinot into rosé, we thought it would be fun to try some out as a sparkling. We sestemmed three tons into the drain press while it was rotating & then pressed the juice off immediately & cold settled. After three days, we racked clean juice to a stainless steel tank for native fermentation. 33 cases worth of this wine were hand bottled in sparkling glass with 1.1° brix sugar remaining. It finished fermentation in bottle, producing the CO2 for sparkling. In July 2026 we disgorged & topped the bottles for release.
Tasting Notes: Lovely lightly sparkling, very fruit-forward wine, with cherry, raspberry, & a hint of vanilla. The palate is playful, with good acid & ripe plum, raspberry & minerality
Pair With: Romesco bruschetta, Bagel & Lox, Fried chicken
