Vineyard Notes: The Heringers have been farming in Clarksburg since 1868. In the early 1970’s they were one of the first to plant vineyards on their property, pioneering the Clarksburg AVA. Now in their 7th generation, they grow many grape varieties in locations all around the Sacramento River delta, all farmed sustainably. Located just across the river from Freeport, Genesis Ranch was taken over by the Heringers for the 2022 growing season.
Cellar Notes: We hand harvested about 3 tons of fruit again, destemmed to press & pressed to tank for settling, then racked to 2 neutral barrels (24%) & stainless tank (76%) for native fermentation. Fermentation took 12 days after which the barrels were topped from tank & the remainder racked off of lees into stainless steel for 2 months. The wine was then all blended together for bottling in January 2025.
Tasting Notes: Perfumed, as usual, this vintage carries floral gardenia, wisteria & citrus flower notes, while light stone fruits & fresh linen make up the base. The palate has great acid, with bright lemon-lime, pineapple & apricot fruits overlaying a herbal, mineral foundation.
Pair With: Spring vegetable frittata, Waldorf salad, Biryani, Artichokes
