Vineyard Notes: The Heringers have been farming in Clarksburg since 1868. In the early 1970’s they were one of the first to plant vineyards on their property, pioneering the Clarksburg AVA. Now in their 7th generation, they grow many grape varieties in many locations in the Sacramento River delta, all farmed sustainably.
Cellar Notes: We received three tons of hand-picked fruit, which was destemmed to bins for fermentation. The wine took about 15 days to complete fermentation & was then pressed & racked to a combination of new & neutral barrels. The wine was then aged for 30 months before being bottled in May 2026.
Tasting Notes: A bold iteration of this wine, with black fruits – plum, dried fig, berries – & a nice herbal quality. The tannins are well-developed & carry a lovely black pepper & black olive effect into the finish.
Pair With: Steak au poivre, char Siu pork, misir Wot (lentils w/ berbere)
