Vineyard Notes: Camino Alto Vineyard is farmed by Ron Mansfield & his son Chuck, who oversee the vineyards of some of the best wineries in the foothills. Their family has been growing grapes, peaches, plums, pears & apples in the foothills for 4 generations. The vineyard, planted to Chardonnay & Cabernet Franc, is located in the foothills north of Camino in El Dorado County.
Cellar Notes: Just about three tons of fruit was hand harvested then destemmed to bins with for native fermentation. After dryness, the wine was racked to a combination of new & neutral barrels, & stainless drums.
Tasting Notes: Direct fruit aromas of blueberry, black currant & blackberry lead to earthy forest notes – juniper, humus, & turmeric. The palate is earthy as well, with a layered, structured tannicity & rich spice finish.
Pair With: Tapenade, eggplant parmigiana, steak or veggie fajitas
