Vineyard Notes: 33 planted acres, of which 8 are Sauvignon blanc, in the heart of Shenandoah Valley. Sustainably farmed. Paul Linsteadt is the second generation owner and lives on this property and makes his own wine from these grapes. He also grows Barbera, Grenache, and Zinfandel.
Cellar Notes: Received four tons of fruit early in the morning. ½ ton was destemmed into a bin for our 2021 COCO. The remainder was pressed to tank for cold settling, then racked to tank & barrel for fermentation (~ 47% in tank / 53% in barrel). Fermentation finished in approximately 14 days, after which the barrels were topped from tank & the remaining tank wine was racked to barrel for aging. In October, the full amount of wine was returned to tank and bottled unfiltered in December 2021.
Tasting Notes: Green melon, kiwi & grapefruit aromas. The palate is bright with lemon/lime, pineapple & herbal notes.
