Vineyard Notes: The Heringers have been farming in Clarksburg since 1868. In the early 1970’s they were one of the first to plant vineyards on their property, pioneering the Clarksburg AVA. Now in their 7th generation, they grow many grape varieties in many locations in the Sacramento River delta, all farmed sustainably.
Cellar Notes: We received 1.8 tons of clean fruit, which was destemmed to 2 bins. After fermentation the wine was racked to neutral barrels. The wine was then aged for 22 months before being bottled unfiltered & with minimal sulfur additions in July 2023.
Tasting Notes: Ripe plum, blackberry, & raspberry lead on the nose, with pleasant herby notes of mint, catnip & green olive also apparent. The palate is racy, with more berries, menthol, sage & black tea building on the base of solid tannic structure. This is a bold wine and should be given time to open up.
