Vineyard Notes: The Heringers have been farming in Clarksburg since 1868. In the early 1970’s they were one of the first to plant vineyards on their property, pioneering the Clarksburg AVA. Now in their 7th generation, they grow many grape varieties in many locations in the Sacramento River delta, all farmed sustainably.
Cellar Notes: We received almost 2.5 tons of fruit & destemmed to bins for a natural fermentation. The wine was dry on 10/20 & pressed on 10/22, after which it was racked to 6 barrels. The wine was aged with regular topping and bottled unfiltered in April 2023.
Tasting Notes: Smells like berry pie, with blackberries, boysenberries, graham cracker crust & pie spices all over the place. Other fruits - plum, cherry & fig - pop up here & there as well. The palate is rich & unctuous, recalling vanilla, chocolate, & clove.
