Our 2020 can release features our 2019 Rosé of Valdiguié from Wilson Vineyards in Clarksburg. Four-pack of cans, 250mL cans =1 L of wine total (1.25 bottles of wine!).
Vineyard Notes: Wilson Vineyard, Clarksburg. The Wilson’s are 3rd generation farmers in Clarksburg, originally supplying sugar beets to the old sugar mill. They started planting grapes in the 1970s. The Valdiguié comes from Block 20 is on Courtland Rd, between Elk & Prospect Sloughs, & was planted in 1994.
Cellar Notes: Three tons of fruit were hand-harvested in the early morning & back to the winery by 10am. We destemmed 2 tons into the press & let the juice sit on the skins for 40 minutes before pressing. The remaining 1 ton was foot-treaded in the picking bins, then left to macerate overnight. It was pressed & blended into the juice from the previous day in the morning. We wanted to put this wine into can because it has the perfect amount of crisp acidity to enjoy out of a glass or right out of the can. And it's one of prettiest colors of rosé we've ever seen!
Tasting Notes: A deliciously aromatic wine, with peach, guava & lavender aromas following one on another. In the mouth, the flavors run together into a great melange of fruits & flowers, with a slightly saline underpinning.
Artwork: Our great friends at Lunia Blue designed these amazing can labels with influence coming from Greek mythology and a new wave tattoo era.
