Notes of Meyer lemon, kumquart & pineapple. A mouth-filling Sauvignon Blanc.
Vineyard Notes: Linsteadt Vineyards has 33 planted acres, of which 8 are Sauvignon Blanc, in the heart of Shenandoah Valley. Sustainably farmed. This vineyard has been in the family for years and Paul and his wife Laura just retired to live full-time on their beautiful vineyard property.
Cellar Notes: Destemmed & pressed to tank for cold settle for 72 hours. Approximately half the juice was racked to neutral barrels for fermentation; remaining juice was fermented in stainless steel. After fermentation finished, barrels went through spontaneous malolactic fermentation & were stirred every three months. Final blend is approx 60% barrel fermented, 40% stainless steel fermented. 13.2% ABV.
Tasting Notes: The nose is on the lean side, with Meyer lemon, kumquat & pineapple. It is mouth-filling, with more citrus on the tongue, especially grapefruit & pomelo. The finish is sprightly & herbal, with lemongrass & dry hay.
