A savory, fruit-forward red with mouth-filling plum & earth.
Vineyard Notes: Vallejo Vineyard is a small (3 acre) vineyard planted in 2005 in southern Sacramento County, near the town of Wilton. The vineyard is completely organic, with attention focused on vine health, irrigation methodology, hand-pruning and canopy management to produce the best fruit. The rows are too narrow for conventional equipment to navigate which means all vineyard operations are carried out by hand.
Cellar Notes: Hand picked in the early morning for our field blend (Elidé), we separate only 1.5 tons of Malbec to be made as a 100% varietal. With lots of lees stirring, this wine sat in elevage for 16 months prior to bottling.
Tasting Notes: A pleasing, fruit-forward red with mouth-filling plum & earth. Nice savory notes of mushroom & sage with structure.
