Vineyard Notes: The Heringers have been farming in Clarksburg since 1868. In the early 1970’s they were one of the first to plant vineyards on their property, pioneering the Clarksburg AVA. Now in their 7th generation, they grow many grape varieties in many locations in the Sacramento River delta, all farmed sustainably.
Cellar Notes: Approximately 75% of the grapes were destemmed to macrobin for maceration. The remaining 25% was foot treaded into a separate macrobin. After finishing fermentation, the wine was pressed & racked to neutral oak barrels. Everyhting was blended togetherand bottled unfiltered.
Tasting Notes: More floral than some of our Malbecs have been, the 2019 has aromas of dried rose petals, bay leaf, & black pepper, with plum & cherry providing the fruit aspects. It is bold & smooth in the mouth, with lingering herbal notes on the finish.
